Change of Date

So I do not know why I thought getting married the day of Christmas was going to workout but I did.  Ladies and Gentlemen you will be super happy to hear that I have had a revaluation.....THATS A SILLY WEDDING DATE!

So Alex and I have changed out wedding date to December 5, 2009

Chuppah Wedding Ceremony

Alex and I have decided to have a Chuppah (sounds like hoop:a) as the focus of our ceremony. The Chuppah with the Star of David is an example of a traditional Jewish Chuppah. Ours will look a tad different than the traditionl Chuppah, as neither Alex or I are Jewish. Alex and I know that we are entering into a marriage that is centered in the Lord.  The Lord has blessed us with each other and we want so badly for Him to be the most important relationship in our lives.

A Chuppah is a canopy traditionally used in Jewish weddings. It consists of a cloth, sheet or sometimes a prayershawl stretched or supported over four poles. A Chuppah symbolizes the home the couple will build together.

This "home" or Chuppa lacks furniture as a reminder that the basis of a home is the people within it, not the possessions gained. In a spiritual sense, the covering of the chuppah represents the presence of God over the covenant of marriage.

I really like the silver Chuppah with red flowers but would use blue flowers to replace the red. I also really like the while Chuppah with the overlay of color.....hmmm decisions decisions!

Winter Wonderland Ideas

I found what I want for the side of the benches at church! This is a picture of a wedding that happened last year in out church and looked amazing!  The second picture you can see a snowflake pin that the girls wore on their dress. I want something like this on the front of the flowers everyone is holding.

Reception Ideas

I like this reception picture. I am not sure what exactly it is that I like but with a little bit of winter blue added in there it could be a great WINTER WONDERLAND!!!

I do not know what know what these things are but I love them. I think they are so cool and would look awesome with white christmas lights in the trees leading to the reception.

Programs

I found this picture of programs the other day. I really like the envelope style but since we are going to be making as much of the paper products on our own I am not sure its worth the hassle.  Also this weekend while my mom was in town she told me that she gets a great discount at Kinko's because she is a FedEx employee so I will be able to print everything easily up there. She just cant quit or get fired between now and then. HA HA!

save the dates

I think we found what we are going to do for our save the date. I had always thought we would have our picture on it but I think we are going to go for a different style. Let me know what you think!
