Wedding Registry

I never ever thought that registering for our wedding would take as long as it did. We went to 3 different places and each place took at least 2 hours. It was fun the first 30-45 minutes of each store but then I lost interest.  This is very typical for me seeing as how I can not get through an entire MarioKart race without loosing focus.  Over all it was a lot of fun and I am so glad that we did it while we are still together in the same town.  If we would have waited we would have had to do it on a weekend that one of us traveled to see the other and that would have been a bummer to waste a whole day doing that stuff.

At Target our  frivolous  item that we registered for was from Alex.  He scanned a Blue Ray DVD player thing.  He knows its crazy but hey! a man can dream right?!?!?!

At Bed Bath and Beyond we registered for a $300 margarita machine.  That is also on the list at target and that is the frivolous thing that I got trigger happy and scanned. By the time I saw it at BB&B I was starving and possibly just scanning crazy things. The other thing at BB&B that I did not intend to register for was china.  I have never wanted a set or thought that it was needed but when we got there the lady totally sold me on it! It doesn't break and you can put it in the dishwasher! I now like our choice a lot and will have to take out a small loan to purchase it myself if none of the guest get it.  Just kidding.....kinda!

At Home Depot Alex registered for a lot of things.  That list is not available online, you have to go into the store and look at it.  Honestly I don't know what to say was frivolous or cool from here because I just don't know that much about boy things :)

Overall it was fun and we are glad its over!

How many more days left?

This is not about our wedding it is about how much Alex and I can't wait to be done with school.

Today I had a really bad day at my field placement school. It was supposed to be our last day but because my teacher is a little looney I have to go tomorrow also. Oh well it won't kill me to go for 3 more hours.  That will give me 23 days and 65 hours.  The requirement was 20 days and 60 hours. She said she has things for me to do....that means I will be putting decorations and class work up in the hallway :( barf! Needless to say I am soooo anxious to be done with school on December 2!

Alex also is feeling very anxious to be done with school. On tuesday he CLEP tested out of 16 hours of spanish!!! That is crazy! With that news if he is able to get a C in the rest of his classes he will be able to only take summer school the first session and move to Austin during the second.  He will still graduate in August but will have the entire month of July off to move and get ready for the wedding.  GOOD NEWS FOR ME!

http://www.scoops-scoops.com has the most amazing (well that makes them seem like they are covered in diamonds) perfect scoops for the candy bar. They have 2 different sizes that we are going to order and they dont cost $1,000,000! I had been looking and all of the scoops I was finding were so much just for a scoop! This is a perfect website for candy buffet brides!

Finally Flowers

I am sure that my mom can do magic with flowers and am so blessed to have that creativity on my wedding planning team.  I love the red roses but more than that I love these deep red gerbera daisies.  The problem with the daisies is going to be assuring that the right color is shipped for the wedding.

Reception Ideas

I was telling my mom the other day that the most important part of our wedding to me, besides the obvious getting married part, is the reception. I want the reception to look like Oprah sent me her designers and made the most amazing party space ever. These ideas are very cute and a lot of fun, but they are missing the WOW factor.

Invitation Ideas

Alex likes the invitations with the flowers more than the plain ones on the bottom.  I really like the way the invites on the bottom are built so we are thinking about doing a mix of the two.

More Theme Boards

Aqua and Red Combos!

I like the different combinations of colors in the dresses here.

This picture is so elegant and pretty. I love that the aqua is subtle but still noticeable.
This picture makes me sooooooooo happy!

Candy Bar

We are still going to do a candy bar at the reception.  The colors will be aqua and red candy on a white table cloth. I found this picture of the bags that are just simple paper bags with a stamp on the front.  I am excited to get to Hobby Lobby and find the perfect rubber stamp for this job. The other option is get Holly Lumley to go sneek into the art building with me again and make a rubber stamp from Sarah's art supplies.....hmmmm :)

Aqua and Red

I am in love with these new colors.  At first I was not sold on the idea of aqua and red, but then Lori Hatfield sent me this theme board and now I am totally sold.  She gave me 5 amazing reasons why these are the perfect colors for our wedding.

1. It's different...I have not seen it done before (and to me that screams Holly Madison Hughes!!!)

2. It keeps part of your original color in the blue theme.

3. It would look cool in the church.

4. The flowers your mom could do would be amazing.

5. It is stunning.

Dun Dun Dun.....

Please don't hate us too much.  We have changed the date of the wedding for the final time. Like for real for real this time.  The church will be booked on Monday morning at 9am and then we are tied in like a shoe on a football player! (GO TECH!) We will be married at First Baptist Church Round Rock on August 14, 2009.
