Wedding Invitations

I am done printing all the invitations, RSVP cards, and the RSVP envelopes. I am still working on completing our guest list as far as addresses so the big envelopes are yet to  be printed. I really liked the way they turned out!

There are two types of invitations, one has daisies and one has loopy hearts.  These invites were such a good deal I could not pass them up and they only had two boxes of daisies so I had to go with another types of print also.

Wedding Dress Day

These are some of the dresses that I tried on this afternoon in Round Rock.  It was fun, Kayler and Chloe came and tried on bridesmaid dresses also. We also had my mom, Matt, Lori, and Kayler's friend Megan with us. IT WAS A FULL HOUSE! I really liked these dresses that I tried on and I think I have a winner in mind. I will go back next week and make a final choice.

Hair Styles

I have booked a hairdresser (two actually) to do the bridal parties hair for the wedding day.  Her name is Jenni Carter and is amazing! She has done my hair the last few years and has done Lori Hatfield's hair FOREVER! She is super fun and sweet and will be way fun to have around on that crazy day! The other great thing about Jenni is that her salon is a whole 5 minutes (literally) from the church! PERFECTION!
I have found the way I want to wear my hair and am still looking for 4 or 5 choices to give my bridesmaids for their hair styles.

I am going to do very simple but still very elegant and gorgeous curls with straight bangs. I love the way this hair style looks with a veil and that it shows in pictures.  I am not a fan of up-do's in photographs because I tend to look bald with my hair slicked back :)

Escort Cards

I could not find a picture of exactly what I am thinking but the picture in the top right hand of this collage is close. I want to do tall shot classes with red or aqua rocks in the bottom. Instead of a flower I want to do a dowel rod  that is red or aqua with clear glitter sparkles on it. Then I want to place the escort envelope in a slit on top of the dowel rod. Not sure hot exactly this would work but when I do I will update a new picture!

I like the idea of putting the big letters in front of each set of cards. I think this will help before find their cards quicker and move on to the reception.

I like the red envalopes with aqua cards inside with the table number. Also this might be the place to annouce that on Saturday, the following night we would like for our guest to meet us downtown for our first night out as married grown ups!

I TOLD YOU SO MOM!!!

This one is my favorite. Instead of a candle I think some flowers would be pretty. I think the church won't let us do candles in the youth area.

Instead of bamboo I think some red branches with dangel sparkley something or others would be great!

Kids or grownups who like fish can take the fish home!

I love the tall vases.

I like the colored rocks in the bottom and the three different types of vases.

This post is dedicated to my mommy dearest. I had this idea and loved it but my mom was not so sure. Last night I was at the mall with Brandi and Arthur and Brandi said she had a really great idea...it was the fish idea!!! So I started looking today during my student teaching meeting (which is super pointless!) and here is what I found!

Not wedding stuff....just a thought to share

Please lay down your arrows
For they're sure to pierce the skin
And water from a broken well
Will make you thirst again
When all things you've acquired
Are tested by the flames
And you can see them melting
Then will you call his name

It's worth it brothers
It's worth it friends
To know your maker
To lose your sin
Did you know that you are dearly loved

To the slaughters you are being led
Being told that it's a party
That this God is in your head
And every single lie
Sounds just like the greatest truth
But the one truth you're not hearing
Is that he died for you

No greater joy
No greater peace
No greater love than this

It's worth it brothers
It's worth it friends
To know your maker
To lose your sin
Did you know that you are dearly loved

I am sitting in the SUB at Tech for the last time....ever, studying for a final that I have to make a C on to pass the class (eeeek history is hard!) this song came on my ipod.  I have heard Jimmy Needham tell me 47902098470 times that I am "dearly loved" but today it was more that that. I realized that I am "dearly loved" by the Father, Jesus, my Savior, my Creator, the King, the Lamb of God, Messiah, Elohim- powerful God, Jehovah, the God of the Universe "dearly loves" me! This is not  new thought but today it is exactly what I needed to hear from Him.

Wedding Bands

Alex and I went to Kay Jewelers and bought our wedding bands today.  Mine is very simple and matches my engagement band perfectly.  I did not want any thing with diamonds (GASP!!!!) because I felt like they all just took away from the beauty of my ring.  Alex's ring is a Tungston ring.  It is stronger and more resistant that titanium.  It is scratch resistant and if he ever needs a different size Kay Jewelers will give him a new one for free.  There is a small diamond in the middle of his band also. Arthur and Alex can be BLING brothers.  Alex didn't think he would want diamonds but when he saw them he couldn't resist.

Wedding Registry

I never ever thought that registering for our wedding would take as long as it did. We went to 3 different places and each place took at least 2 hours. It was fun the first 30-45 minutes of each store but then I lost interest.  This is very typical for me seeing as how I can not get through an entire MarioKart race without loosing focus.  Over all it was a lot of fun and I am so glad that we did it while we are still together in the same town.  If we would have waited we would have had to do it on a weekend that one of us traveled to see the other and that would have been a bummer to waste a whole day doing that stuff.

At Target our  frivolous  item that we registered for was from Alex.  He scanned a Blue Ray DVD player thing.  He knows its crazy but hey! a man can dream right?!?!?!

At Bed Bath and Beyond we registered for a $300 margarita machine.  That is also on the list at target and that is the frivolous thing that I got trigger happy and scanned. By the time I saw it at BB&B I was starving and possibly just scanning crazy things. The other thing at BB&B that I did not intend to register for was china.  I have never wanted a set or thought that it was needed but when we got there the lady totally sold me on it! It doesn't break and you can put it in the dishwasher! I now like our choice a lot and will have to take out a small loan to purchase it myself if none of the guest get it.  Just kidding.....kinda!

At Home Depot Alex registered for a lot of things.  That list is not available online, you have to go into the store and look at it.  Honestly I don't know what to say was frivolous or cool from here because I just don't know that much about boy things :)

Overall it was fun and we are glad its over!

How many more days left?

This is not about our wedding it is about how much Alex and I can't wait to be done with school.

Today I had a really bad day at my field placement school. It was supposed to be our last day but because my teacher is a little looney I have to go tomorrow also. Oh well it won't kill me to go for 3 more hours.  That will give me 23 days and 65 hours.  The requirement was 20 days and 60 hours. She said she has things for me to do....that means I will be putting decorations and class work up in the hallway :( barf! Needless to say I am soooo anxious to be done with school on December 2!

Alex also is feeling very anxious to be done with school. On tuesday he CLEP tested out of 16 hours of spanish!!! That is crazy! With that news if he is able to get a C in the rest of his classes he will be able to only take summer school the first session and move to Austin during the second.  He will still graduate in August but will have the entire month of July off to move and get ready for the wedding.  GOOD NEWS FOR ME!

scoops SCOOPS scoops!

http://www.scoops-scoops.com has the most amazing (well that makes them seem like they are covered in diamonds) perfect scoops for the candy bar. They have 2 different sizes that we are going to order and they dont cost $1,000,000! I had been looking and all of the scoops I was finding were so much just for a scoop! This is a perfect website for candy buffet brides!

Finally Flowers

I am sure that my mom can do magic with flowers and am so blessed to have that creativity on my wedding planning team.  I love the red roses but more than that I love these deep red gerbera daisies.  The problem with the daisies is going to be assuring that the right color is shipped for the wedding.

Reception Ideas

I was telling my mom the other day that the most important part of our wedding to me, besides the obvious getting married part, is the reception. I want the reception to look like Oprah sent me her designers and made the most amazing party space ever. These ideas are very cute and a lot of fun, but they are missing the WOW factor.

Invitation Ideas

Alex likes the invitations with the flowers more than the plain ones on the bottom.  I really like the way the invites on the bottom are built so we are thinking about doing a mix of the two.

Aqua and Red Combos!

I like the different combinations of colors in the dresses here.

This picture is so elegant and pretty. I love that the aqua is subtle but still noticeable.
This picture makes me sooooooooo happy!
