It's my 100th post!!!! Brandi be proud!

Miss Brandi is the lady who got me hooked on blogging. First it was wedding detail and then Makenzie details and soon it will be a little of both again, as Alex and I get ready to start planning wedding stuff again in the coming months! So thanks Brandi and heres to another 100 post!

Now back to the baby update! We have been here at RR Hospital for about 4 hours and my bum is num! They stuck me in a bed and are pretty reluctant to let me up. With it being an induction they feel the need (for some medical reason I am sure) to keep me hooked up to monitors and in bed. The contractions are about 5 minutes apart and sometimes they hurt a lot and sometimes they don't. This last contraction is in my back and HOLY MOLY I am not a fan of that! The visitor list is starting and the nurses are I'm sure very pleased with that :O) Matt and Lori and the girls have been by, my mom and Emily came after that for a while, and then Avery and Ashley came up after that to bring Alex some Jack in The Box. He was in heaven!

The nurse just came back in and game me Ambien so I could sleep tonight! Whoohoo! Good night y'all! If anything good happens I will let you know!

Today is the day....kinda

Going to the hospital tonight at 6 to get the show on the road. The first 12 hours of medicine is not going to start anything fun but tomorrow morning the they drip the pitocin the party is on like donkey kong! Just hanging out today with Alex and doing last minute cleaning and laundry so the house is a little decent when we come home on Saturday.

one

ONE MORE DAY! Today was pretty relaxed. I took Lola to get bathed and groomed before her week at Matt and Lori's house. I figure I will have a full house with all the visitors that are calling to make plans to come either to the hospital, to the house, or both.....so Lola is gonna have a week vacation (if I can stand for her to be gone that long) at the Hatfields.

Not sure how I feel about the amount of visitors that have planned to come to town or to the hospital/house but I also don't feel like there is much I can do about it at this point. But VISITORS BE AWARE I will spray you with lysol, pour antibacterial all over you and take your temperature, and there will be NO kissing or touching Makenzie's face! The doctor has got me pretty neurotic about the flu and other sicknesses at this point if you can't tell. I couldn't even imagine how much more hard the first few weeks would be if she was sick on top of just being new.

My mom and I went to Steak and Shake for lunch...no need to go back there for another year :o(

Now I'm back home and in bed. I have had uncomfortable contractions since last night but nothing strong or even painful at this point, but I can definitely feel them.

Alex's flight gets to Austin at 6:30 tonight and Makenzie is more than welcome to make her debut any time after that, the sooner the better because he has to go back to Lubbock for school on Tuesday morning. That is something to pray for also, the time away is gonna be hard but it is by far the most important thing that Alex finish school and get his degree so thats the sacrifice we are gonna roll with. It will only be about 6 weeks of us apart after Makenzie is here so pray for the time to fly!

UPDATE: uno.....DOS

Went to the doctor and somehow managed to get in and out in only 35 minutes! And that included a 20 minute Non Stress Test! After you pass your due date they want to make sure that the baby is moving and reacting to their heart rate. They hooked me up to a monitor that charted the babies heart rate and when I felt her move I pressed a button and that somehow went on the chart also. The nurse came in and checked the paper about 1/2 way through and said "Ohhh your having a contraction. Can't you feel that?" UMMMM NO! I had no clue I was having any type of movement let alone a contraction. After that test the doctor came in a checked me and I am still not dilated or making any other types of progress so the induction date is still set for Wednesday night at 6 o'clock. This is great news!

On a less fun note: Alex woke up this morning feeling crummy ;o( pray for him to stay healthy and not get sick during this week that he is here in Austin.

uno......DOS!

nothing new over the night time hours....

I have a doctors appointment today at 2 o'clock and will see if we have made any progress but I do not feel like anything has changed. I am going to go to my nephew's school today and eat lunch with him and then maybe go eat with my niece or just go pick her up from school for a fun afternoon at grandmas. I will update after my appointment this afternoon. PEACE!

3 is a sleepy number

  • Makenzie's movement has slowed down considerably. (this is normal)
  • I am sooooo tired, sleep doesn't happen anymore because my lower body goes numb after laying down in any position for 30 minutes.
  • It has got hot again here in Round Rock after 2 weeks of great cool weather, that might be another reason to be tired.
  • I went grocery shopping for some dinner ideas and snacks for at the hospital and for easy things to cook when we get home from the hospital.
  • Going to my brothers softball game tonight @ 7:30! Whoohoo!
  • I had planned on staying in bed all day today....that didn't happen, not by a loooooong shot. FOR REAL tomorrow I am staying in bed!

4 days

I know this is rotten ^^^^ but I need a little humor!
So today is my due date and no baby is coming yet! This really is a blessing though because Alex won't be here until Tuesday night at 6:30 so keep praying that Makenzie holds out until then at least. It was a weird feeling this morning to wake up and think "HMMMM today is finally September 26th but something isn't how I thought it would be." It is a little funny that for some reason today it seems to have got 100 times harder to walk, move, sit, stand, roll over, just about anything seems to be harder :O) I know it is probably all mental though. We are down to 4 days before induction, but I do go to the doctor on Monday afternoon and if she indicated that I have made any progress we might see about moving the induction to start on Tuesday night when Alex gets here, but I doubt that will happen.

Saturday + Sunday+ Monday+ Tuesday + Wednesday = 5 days!

5 more days until Makenzie is wiggled out into the world! Only big news today is that Alex changed his flight to come in on Tuesday night so we are gonna go on our last date without Big Mak!!! Also, this way he can stay with me in the hospital on Wednesday night while they are starting the 12 hours of medicine before the actual induction. WHOOHOO!!

Six Is The New Magic Number

6 more days until Makenzie gets the boot from my belly! It is very exciting to have a clear end in sight, but with the excitement is also a lot of fear. I know that 'it is all gonna be okay' but this is something I haven't done before people!

Tonight we are having some friends over to watch Grey's Anatomy and I am way excited! Next week I will have to watch it in the hospital with a new baby!!! I made Banana Split Bread last night to eat tonight but it didn't get cooked all the way. It was a total bummer, but I might try again today.

Ready or Not....

Ready or not Makenzie is coming!

I got a phone call from the doctor this morning at 8:30 but I didn't answer it. I figured it was them calling to remind me of my 41 week appointment on Monday September 28th. After the phone had stopped ringing I realized that it was only Wednesday and they usually don't call to remind me of appointments until Friday. So I waited for the voicemail to come through and it was the doctor calling to tell me she had officially scheduled my induction. SCARY!

I will go into the hospital on Wednesday September 30 at 6pm and start a 12 hour dose of cervidrill. The following morning is when Alex is coming into town, he will land in Austin at 7:40am and come to the hospital. I will start the Patocin around 7am on October 1st and if all goes well and fast, by mid afternoon Makenzie will finally be here. CRAZY!

38 WEEK CHECK UP

Today Makenzie and I had our 38 week check-up. Surprisingly enough I only had to wait for an hour!!! I somehow managed to loose 1.5 pounds but thats whatever because I'M MAKING BROWNIES TONIGHT!

The doctor laughed when she check me and said to keep planning on Makenzie not coming on her own. This is a little bit of a bummer but really it's for the best. By Mak waiting for her eviction date on October 1 that lets it be easier for Alex to be here. He will be here no matter what but that's one less thing to worry about if we wait until the 1st.

Makenie will only me about 1 month old when.....

She becomes a M&M!!!!!!! This is seriously cute and perfect for a tiny baby! I am not interested in putting her in something that goes around her face though. So I am going to make it! I am now on the hunt for a yellow sleeper sack or maybe I will just get a white one and we can dye it yellow and get a little yellow cap to match!

Makenzie's Baby BOWtique!

Pretty Flower from Sweet Love & Sugar Britches (a store here in RR)
My first wired ribbon bow!
Korkerscrew Bows!!! I LOVE THESE!
Flower peddle bows...way fun!
Another Korkerscrew Bow
Flat tuxedo bow clips
More flat tuxedo bows, the one in the middle is a triple tuxedo bow!
Minnesota Vikings bow, and polka dot bow
Yellow flower and Texas Tech football flower bows!Black and white traditional bow and Halloween traditional bow
This is how I hang all these bows up! Two long pieces of ribbon attacked to a wooden flower craft. I am going to make one for flower with the same length of ribbon on it for the few bows I still have left to make in the next few days. I have enjoyed this project a lot the last few days. It has been fun and a money saver for sure!

Day 1 of Baby Bow Extravaganza!

These are called 'Tuxedo Bows" and by the end of this extravaganza I will be a pro! The challenge here is that they are so small! I love that they are just simple and I can make them in a ton of different colors and patterns.

This is a light purple and light pink silk daisy that I cut the stem off of and just glued the flower peddles back together. After that dried I added the rhinestone and "M" button respectively. The flowers were sadly not on sale at Hobby Lobby this week so these (and the orange one) were $1.68 each.
These two flowers are a bit different than the two above. They were in the scrapbooking section of Hobby Lobby and were really just embellished paper brads. They were $2.99 for both flowers. The headband is one that we had in my bathroom but that is what a Gaspy hat and headband looks like, kind of a crochet pattern but they are stretchy also. Next to these flowers was a bucket that was $9.99 and it was full of daisy peddles that I could mix and match to make more Gaspy flowers. That is going to be my next purchase for bows when I gear up for round two of bow making.....that will not be for a while after Makenzie comes and I know more of what she likes and will put up with on her head!

Makenzie is going to looooooove Halloween just as much as me! We are going to have a Halloween week!!!

I made 3 Halloween little hair clips. The first is a girly ghost with googly eyes! The second is a clip that says 'Halloween', and the third is just orange with a spider web and spider and 2 baby candy corns! The strip of ribbon next to it is going to be a pacifier clip. I need to get the suspender clip and a velcro dot. The clips were all pretty easy to make and they cost way less than the $5.00 a pair I saw this week at a baby boutique. The pacifier clip was super simple and easy to make, I had the button pieces left over in the bag and just hot glued them on a ribbon. My thought on this is that, even though I glued the pieces on very carefully and securely they could still fall off with the extra movement.
This is the flower that I made for the Gaspy hat or headband we got. I just bought a black headband and cap and a white headband and cap for right now. All of the flowers (or clips for that matter) clip onto the band or hat and are way fun and too cute!

PS: I am aware that all of this hoopla is just for show and will only last about as long as the pictures can be taken but at least I'm prepared for that!

Birth Announcement Choices

I was thinking that it would be a good idea to go ahead and pick out a birth announcement and get it designed ahead of time. I know time will fly but if I can get this one thing designed (hint*sally*hint) and possibly get a person in charge of this (*hint*emily, melissa, mom*hint*) then maybe they will get out before Christmas.

I found these 12 ideas and sent them to Alex. He thinks about these things for a while so we will see which one he likes most, but what do you think?

Does It Get Any Cuter Than This?

I have a new project that might get me through the next 3 weeks. (i had a crappy day...too many emotions so i needed to find something to occupy my time for Alex's sake and the sake of other around me) I am going to go to Hobby Lobby later today and go shopping! I think I can make all of these bows for $25.00 or less.....maybe wishful thinking but thats the goal! I'll update you soon on any potential progress.
